It's not uncommon for teenagers and young children to almost 'idolize' the celebrities they see every time they turn on the television and whilst that can sometimes be worrying, it doesn't always have to be. Not every young star is a bad role model. There are a few who young people could actually learn something from. You might actually be surprised...
1. Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez, born on July 22, 1992 is Disney Channel's popular young actress and singer. Starring in the hit show 'Wizards of Waverly Place', Selena is an icon for teen girls around the world. She also stays away from drinking, drugs and sex because of the influence she has on young girl.
When Selena isn't acting or singing, she uses her time to get involved in as much charity work as she can. She took part in St. Jude's Children's Hospital 'Runway For Life' and is the ambassador of DoSomething.org. Also, she is involved with a charity that helps raise awareness about the vioence against Congolese women called RAISE hope for Congo. She became the youngest ambassador at UNICEF at just 17 years old and traveled to Ghana in September 2009.
2. Jonas Brothers
The Jonas Brothers are a popular pop group consisting of Paul Kevin Jonas II, Joseph Adam Jonas and Nicholas Jerry Jonas, in short Joe, Nick and Kevin. They wear purity rings because they also believe in saving sex until marriage and unlike many other stars, their songs are not about sleeping around. The Jonas Brothers have their own charity, called 'Change for the Children' and Nick Jonas uses his fame to raise awareness for diabetes.
3.Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is a famous country pop singer who was born on December 13, 1989. At 19 years old, Taylor Swift doesn't smoke, take drugs or even drink alcohol. On being asked about being a role model, Taylor commented with the following statement: "Before I make a decision, I stop and think about the 10-year-old girl I saw at my concert in the front row. I think about her mom. Then I think about how they would feel if I did something to let them down. ."She also plans to save sex for when she gets married.
4. Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato, born on August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, became a superstar when she starred in the hit movie 'Camp Rock' on Disney Channel. She has been a supporter of Teens Against Bullying since 2009, stating that: “Bullying is a very serious thing to me, I have witnessed it first hand – I was bullied myself when I was 12. I want to be able to help other girls around [my sister’s] age come into their own with a strong confidence in their skin, their size, who they are and everything about themselves.”
5. Dakota Fanning
Most commonly known as America's sweet heart, Dakota Fanning was born on February 23, 1994. Despite being a successful star from 'I am Sam' in 2001 and then 'Twilight', she's down to earth and often raises money for Mattel Children's Hospital and works with charity events across the country.

very well thought out. In a world where women like Lindsey Lohan exist to corrupt the younger generation I am glad there are still young stars out there to pick up the slack.
